About Resonancers.com
The term resonance on Twitter was introduced in the last Chirp Conference. Resonance will be a measure of the quality of a tweet which will decide if it appears or not on the new Twitter advertisement platform Promoted Tweets.
In Twitter's own words:
Resonance measures user interaction with the promoted tweet: how many times the tweet itself is viewed, favorited, retweeted, and how many times keywords or links are engaged with
At the moment there are no more details about the algorithm to determine if a tweet resonates and this will probably continue to be a secret, so if we want to compute the resonance score we have to look for alternatives.
Twitter has also revealed the existence the @toptweets account, and whose bio profile says:
Top Tweets algorithmically selects and retweets some of the most interesting tweets spreading across Twitter. Enjoy!
In Twitter's own words:
This algorithm looks at all kinds of interactions with Tweets including retweets, favorites, and more to identify the Tweets with the highest velocity beyond expectations. One thing to note is this is intended to highlight Tweets from all users and doesn't favor those with large follower counts.
As you can see the goals of both algorithms seem to be the same; to determine which tweets generate more buzz. That's why we decided to compute the Resonancers Ranking based on the number of times a user's tweets are retweeted or favorited by one of the Toptweets accounts for each language:

- @toptweets_es (Spanish)
- @toptweets_it (Italian)
- @toptweets_de (German)
- @toptweets_fr (French)
- @toptweets_ja (Japanese)
Besides the ranking to determine the most influential tweeps through the resonance criteria, Resonancers.com lets you know which of your tweets have been retweeted or marked as favorite by one of the Toptweets accounts. You should know that the tweets marked as favorite by one of these Toptweets Accounts will appear on Twitter's Homepage for the corresponding language.
You can also opt-in to receive notifications whenever one of your tweets is featured on Twitter's Homepage. Twitter doesn't usually send notifications if you receive native retweets or if one of your tweets is marked as favorite, so this is a great way to know in real time which of your tweets resonate and to share it with your friends.
